A review on risk assessments and best recommendations for our moderate to high-risk patients

This course will review CAMBRA and the importance of continuously assessing our patients' risk for oral disease. We will discuss the codes associated with risk assessments and what to do when we identify moderate to high-risk patients. We will review the ADA recommendations for at-home therapies while also reviewing Silver Diamine Fluoride options. This course will review the most up-to-date coding information on Silver Diamine Fluoride including the newest code coming into effect this year

Course Objectives

  • Review CAMBRA and the importance of caries risk assessments.

  • Discuss home care/treatment options based on identified risk.

  • Understand current ADA evidence-based clinical recommendations for at-home fluoride for moderate and high-risk patients.

  • Examine Silver Diamine Fluoride indications and updated coding information.

Brooke Crouch is a registered dental hygienist with over thirteen years of clinical experience, both in private practice and public health. She has provided mobile dentistry in both a school-based and nursing home setting. Brooke is proud to serve as the Professional Education Specialist for Elevate Oral Care. She serves as the chair of the Public Health Committee for the Virginia Dental Hygienists Association and serves on CareQuest’s United States Teledentistry Advocacy Coalition.
