Course Description

This is a special opportunity to learn directly from the author of the textbook Peri-Implant Therapy for the Dental Hygienist: 2nd Edition.

Educating hygienists in professional in-office assessment, maintenance, and home-care recommendations is key to the prevention of peri-implant complications. According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, there are currently around 3 million individuals in the United States with dental implants, expected to increase 23% by 2026. This demonstrates the critical nature of dental implant maintenance and the importance of integrating the standard of care protocols within the dental hygiene curriculum.

This course will follow Susan’s new textbook: Peri-Implant Therapy for the Dental Hygienist: 2nd Edition.

Course Objectives

  • Understand protocols, tools, and treatments for the prevention of peri-implant disease

  • Learn how to use the Peri-Implant Therapy for the Dental Hygienist: 2nd Edition textbook
