Course Description

What CDT Code do I use? Dental Coding is a mystery for many hygienists, educators, and students. Hygienists provide dental care and procedures based on our patients' needs, but are you properly coding for what you do, and how to teach the most common codes to students?  The ADA defines CDT codes are intended to “achieve uniformity, consistency, and specificity in accurately documenting dental treatment”. You will learn the common coding mistakes and how to identify and research the necessary codes. Protect your ethics and your license by correctly billing for care, not for what insurance will cover.  Attendees will leave more confident in their coding ability and understanding.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the professor will be able to:

  • Identify how to discuss coding and procedures with students, patients and dental professionals.

  • Discuss common coding questions and errors.

  • Discuss how proper documentation will achieve metrics and can affect overall patient care.
